Reupholstered Chair

Matt's uncle made a small kitchen table as a wedding gift to us. For the first few years of marriage we used our black folding chairs as companions to a beautifully finished wood table. It has been difficult to find chairs that match the finish of the table. A co-worker of mine was trying to get rid of these chairs after getting a new dining room table. Even though they don't match the finish I thought they were cute. And they were definitely less expensive than new chairs. One chair had nice goldish/greenish upholstery that matched our kitchen but the others were pink. I decided to refinish all three chairs to match our green and yellow kitchen.

It's another cold day

Well . . . another cold day!  Matthew has been sad to go to work when I get to stay home but he has been enjoying the benefits of yummy breakfasts and dinners. I bought the Pioneer Woman's cookbook recently. We have been making one recipe a week for some together time. Since I was off, I made the Fancy Mac & Cheese for him last night. amazing. That's all I can say. She has the recipe on her blog as well:

I'm off to spend another day in school work, crafting and cleaning. Enjoy the pictures in my last post of our mini vacation to remember that summer will be back someday!

Stillwater Getaway

Here's another post from this past summer. Maybe I'll finally be caught up with 2013 by summer 2014!  With no exciting trip planned for the summer Matt and I spent a night in Stillwater, MN at a Bed and Breakfast. We went frisbee golfing, enjoyed a dinner cruise, did a tiny bit of shopping and devoured a wonderful old-fashioned malt.

The water was extremely high, pouring past the bike path and into the park.

The sky was very dynamic the day we went on the river cruise.

Our breakfast

The tower above our room where we enjoyed our breakfast.

View #2 from the tower. There were windows on all 4 sides of the very small room.

These stairs were incredibly tight to walk up. The breakfast tray barely fit up it. The trap door on the right could be released so you could walk on top of it without falling.

There was a bathroom with a large walk in shower but another room also had a whirlpool bath.

Our room

This was the flooring by the bath tub. I thought it was a fun texture.

Crazy story. These people were in the room the night before us.
